Get Trendin' USA : gladiator sandals for men
The men in Asia have the best style I have ever seen. I'm always so amazed by how chic yet simple they look. One of the best men's wear I've seen so far is the gladiator sandal. Normally seen on women, this style has been revamped for men everywhere. Now, I'm not talking about a classic Birkenstock sandal. I'm talking about leather laces and everything that reach just above your ankle. For men who are not into laces, try getting sandals with thicker leather straps that aren't too intricate. This will stop you from looking too feminine. If you don't know where to get them, try websites like Etsy. Here's an example and a link below. Hope all you male fashionistas out there give this a try. Trust me, it really does looks incredible.
it's bangkok babe
Hey you, I'm in Asia right now travelling around with some friends and family, and I thought I would share pictures from my time in Bangkok. I had such an eye opening experience there, saw a ton of Buddhas, and ate some delicious food. So, here it is. A five day journey captured in just a few snap shots. Best and Worst of the Couture F/W 2014 Shows
The Best:
1. Valentino: prints, wrap belt, evening wear collection
2. Giambattista Valli: rolled up stripped pants, hair wrap, and black evening wear wrap dress.
3. Chanel: clean cut, boxy jackets, use of red shades, and embroidery.
4. Zuhair Murad: short cape and stellar moto jacket.
5. Christian Dior: Jumpsuits and belts
The Worst:
1. Elie Saab: not branching out... again.
2. Zuhair Murad: prints and constant

4. Schiaparelli: poorly used animal print.

June Favorites
I can't believe it's finally July! It feels like yesterday I was posting some cheesy *NSYNC quote about May. But any who, I thought I would start the new month by posting some of my favorites from June. Since this is my first monthly favorites post, the format may change in the future, (possibly YouTube videos...??). If you have any monthly favorites you want me to check out, feel free to message me. So, as the YouTube gurus say "let's get started".
Benefit's They're Real Mascara:
I got this mascara in a Sephora sample package, and this is absolutely heaven. mascara from the gods. I've always been incredibly skeptical of high end mascaras, but everything the makeup gurus say are true. It really is in the brush. The bristles hit every part of my lashes and distribute the product evenly with minimal clumps. Plus, this mascara lasts for hours, and I don't mean like 7 hours or maybe 8. I will wake up with it on my eyelashes WITHOUT A SMUDGE. No raccoon eyes. FOR HOURS.
Sephora's Color Anthology:
This is a color palette you can get a Sephora for about $35. It has over 25 different colors, including vibrant and nude shades. The pigment is pretty rich and with eye shadow primer it can last you all night long. For about $15 dollars less with triple the colors than Urban Decay's Naked Palette, I would say it's a pretty great deal. It's great for summer and winter days.
Baseball Caps and Snapbacks:
I've never been a hat girl...that is until this summer. I never realized how many different hats there are and how they can easily add some edge to your style. I now have been rocking a leather baseball cap and a vintage green and blue snapback almost every time I go out. In the past I never knew how to style hats because I never saw a lot of girls wearing them. So, if you're having trouble just like I did, try wearing the hat backwards if you're feeling cheeky, and add a bandana if you're feeling really cheeky. Then, where it forward if you want a clean cut look. That's really all there is too it.
Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood
This is an eye-opening graphic novel about the author's childhood during the Islamic Revolution. It's incredible to learn so much about another culture, especially one that has been known to oppress women. This book is much more than a history lesson though, it has the childhood humor that people of both genders can relate to. If you're interested in graphic novels or just learning about another culture, you should read this book!
Cocorosie "Werewolf":
This song has been my summer song for all the rainy days of June. If you're interested in indie chill, Cocorosie is a great artist to check out.
